Stacy Wall and Doug Halbert launch Imperial Woodpecker.
Commercial director Stacy Wall has teamed up with producer Doug Halbert to launch US-based commercial production company Imperial Woodpecker. The pair will helm the company as managing partners.
While Wall is moving away from former production home Epoch to concentrate on the venture, Epoch will be continuing to offer their support with the company even investing in Imperial Woodpecker.
Halbert and Wall have grand plans for the production company, including producing the last ever TV commercial, something that they feel is a distinct possibility in this changing media environment.
"We simply hope to run something small, tailored to evolving needs and capable of greatness. Failing that, our goal is to eat well with friends old and new. We are grateful to Epoch for their continued support and investment in our endeavours," said the duo.
Wall started off at Wieden + Kennedy, where he worked for nine years before leaving to be an artist. He signed with Epoch in 2001, and has since shot work for clients including Nike and Microsoft. Meanwhile Halbert has been associated with Epoch for twelve years and became an executive producer in 2001.
Wall and Halbert are in no rush to draw up a lengthy roster of directors, preferring to add new directors 'carefully'. Imperial Woodpecker will be represented by Tara Averill in New York, Marguerite Juliusson in Chicago and Mal Ward in Los Angeles.
