After the VMA kerfuffle, the Wild Things hype and the cacophonous online chatter it had to be really didn't it? This week's Hotshot sees director extraordinaire Spike Jonze team up with the controversy-courting Kanye West on a new short film project, We Were Once a Fairytale.
Art imitates life imitating a career car crash in Jonze's new project as an inebriated West goes on a drunken hike through a nightclub, propping his own tunes, harassing hostesses and doing no end of damage to his reputation. Sounds like an evening at the Gutter Bar right? But no, look again. A decidedly lacklustre hookup ensues followed by a swift exit for a strategic vomiting. And from there on out it all goes slightly askew.
