onedotzero has unveiled its identity for this year’s adventures in motion festival, created by the internationally acclaimed UVA (UnitedVisualArtists) with sound design from Nick Ryan.

Each year onedotzero commissions a new visual identity for its global moving image festival and tour, which launches at the BFI Southbank, London, on 23-27 November 2011. This year, the award-winning United Visual Artists step into the frame, with a typically inventive trailer sequence using laser technology. For the 2011-12, UVA have created all the elements of the motion identity entirely from light, with typographical sequences reflecting the ephemeral nature of their installation work.

Photographed by James Medcraft, the trailer sequence features specially commissioned sound, created by BAFTA and PRS award-winning music and sound designer Nick Ryan. Following in the footsteps of creative pioneers including Troika, Logan, Alex Rutterford and Wieden + Kennedy with Karsten Schmidt, the onedotzero visual identity commission offers a unique opportunity to bring to life the progressive and visually inspiring spirit of the festival screening programmes and accompanying events.

This year sees the festival celebrate 15 years of championing and exploring new territories of digital creativity by actively commissioning, showcasing and promoting a diverse programme of moving image, digital and interactive arts.
