ADC 2012 Winners Revealed
BETC Euro RSCG, BBH New York and Jung von Matt amongst the winners in the advertising category.
Ahead of its awards ceremony on 8 May, the Art Directors Club has revealed its 2012 ADC Cube winners, with ten golds awarded in the Advertising category.
Leading the charge in Advertising was Paris' BETC Euro RSCG, who received three gold cubes and one silver for the Canal+ film The Bear, directed by Matthijs van Heijningen. BBH New York also scored a gold for its The Web Is What You Make Of It campaign for Google Chrome, which featured videos such as Dear Sophie and It Gets Better.
Jung von Matt in Hamburg was also amongst the gold winners for its The Invisible Drive project, which showcased the Mercedes-Benz F-CELL’s zero emission by covering the car in LEDs and screening images of the car’s real time surroundings to make it ‘invisible’. JWT Shanghai added another award to its booty with a gold for the Samsonite Heaven and Hell print campaign. Y&R New York also picked up a gold cube for the Pathological Liar spot for Land Rover, while LOWE/SSP3 in Bogota was awarded gold for Operation Christmas – a campaign for the Colombian Ministry of Defence that aimed to demobilise guerrilla fighter by taking Christmas to the jungle.
The final two golds in the Advertising category went to Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and Duotone Audio Group for the Chipotle campaign Back to the Start, which featured a downloadable cover of Coldplay track The Scientist by Willie Nelson. The project was also the biggest ADC winner of 2012 with two more golds and two silvers in the Interactive and Motion categories. Other significant winners included Heimat Berlin with five ADC Cubes, BBDO New York with four, and Google Creative Labs, Leo Burnett Toronto and Leo Burnett Sydney each with three.
