Mother’s Headhunter Wants Your LinkedIn Details
New York agency launches creepy call for entries with stalkerish campaign for its summer intern programme.
Agency creates stalkerish headhunter character for LinkedIn recruitment drive
New York advertising agency Mother NY has launched a summer internship programme for new graduates and students interested in a career in the advertising industry. However, the creepy call for entries has caused a stir after a fictitious character was introduced as the head recruiter.
To promote the scheme to potential candidates, the agency has created Donald Buscando, a creepy internet headhunter who has been trawling through LinkedIn profiles looking for future creatives.
The character, whose surname translates from Spanish to mean ‘looking for’ has been named as the agency’s new director of online networking. In his new role Buscando, who apparently smells like engine oil, is responsible for spending all day seeking out candidates and leaving them an eerie video message (below) should they take his fancy.
The internship programme will run from Monday 9 June – Friday 15 August 2014. For information on the scheme and details on how to apply, click here.
