180 Amsterdam use split-screen to show the similarities between child refugees in WWII and today in a new web video for Unicef.

Entitled The Shared Story of Harry and Ahmed, the video was created by Joshua Neale, a director for Smuggler. In it, real refugees Harry and Ahmed appear in a split-screen, speaking alternately about their experiences as child refugees in WWII and Syria respectively This has the effect of turning their stories into one long monologue that that explicitly compares the crisis of the modern world with that of the 1940s.

This comparison continues with matched footage taken from Second World War-era newsreel footage and contemporary footage. The aim of this, according to 180 Amsterdam president and CCO Al Moseley, was to highlight how 'it has been over seventy years since we have seen a humanitarian crisis of this magnitude'.
