Nils Leonard Unveils Eco-Friendly Coffee, Halo
Former Grey CCO launches biodegradable coffee capsule brand that promises to reduce impact on environment.
Ever wondered what Grey’s former CCO Nils Leonard was up to since leaving the agency last year? He’s been busy creating eco-friendly coffee capsule brand, Halo, together with the agency’s former chief executive Lucy Jameson and MD Natalie Graeme.
What makes Halo different from its fellow competitors is that the coffee capsules are completely biodegradable, as they’re made from natural fibres including bamboo and paper.
The Nespresso-compatible capsules will decompose within 90 days and can be disposed of in a home food bin. A vast improvement from the 200-year rate that it currently takes existing plastic capsules to biodegrade.
The brand hasn’t compromised on flavour either – with some of the capsules boasting the world’s best coffee, including Kopi Luwak Diamond beans.
“I’ve spent 20 years pushing brands that aren’t mine and I wanted to know what it was like to launch one of my own,” says Leonard of the business. “I wanted to create a brand that started with a purpose, that people actually wished existed and that mattered in the world and that’s what I’ve done. A product that answers the massive challenges in the coffee capsule market.”
