Amidst all the proclamations of "fire and fury" and headlines screaming about World War Three, two creative agencies are asking us to put down the nuclear warheads and pick up a pen/pencil/pot of paint instead.

As part of their inaugural Posters for Peace competition, creative incubator Sid Lee Collective and Montreal-based production and art direction agency MASSIVart are inviting creatives, designers and illustrators from around the world to submit their visions of peace in a 24" x 36" poster format.

50 winning designs will be chosen by a jury of high-profile creatives and designers including Phil Meunier, co-founder and CCO, Sid Lee; Arthur Gaillard, CCO, MASSIVart and Pum Lefebure, co-founder and CCO, Creative Army, to be exhibited on International Peace Day (September 21 2017) as part of this year's Bed-In for Peace event in Montreal, which commemorates the most famous duvet day of all, John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s 1969 Bed-In for Peace.

As well as the chance to be included in the exhibition, there's a special 'Coup de Coeur' (jury's choice) prize of CA$4,000 up for grabs.

“The world seems to be growing darker by the day,” comments Sid Lee's Meunier. “We’ve learned that even the smallest actions can spark change. With ‘Posters for Peace,’ we want to give artists a global platform to express themselves on this issue and start a conversation, so that together we can build a better tomorrow.”

Interested? Simply submit up to two peace-inspired poster designs (the more dolphins the better) via the Posters for Peace website. Submissions close on September 1.
