A 'classic whodunit noir genre story told through a warped and multicolored lens' is how the press release describes this bizarre but entertaining short, and frankly we couldn't put it better ourselves.
Director Todd Selby and writer Jason Kreher, a creative director at Wieden+Kennedy Portland, show how fresh a timeless story can look when told by a totally different cast of characters. Here, The Wire's Felicia 'Snoop' Pearson plays the titular, hard-bitten LA gumshoe with a weakness for hard liquor and soft women, who takes on the case of a gorgeous dame and her missing cactus.
Throw in hallucinogenic technicolour animations, a gaggle of drag queens and a baby with the ability to shoot deadly lasers from its eyes, and you've got the makings of a modern stoner classic - one which has already garnered rave reviews on the indie and LGBT film circuits.
