Steve Vranakis, ECD of Google Creative Lab, has just been announced as the new D&AD President, where he will act as a global figurehead for excellence in design and advertising, championing D&AD’s mission to stimulate a fairer, more diverse, properly gender-balanced industry, in the pursuit of groundbreaking creativity.

Harriet Devoy, creative director of Design, Marketing Communications at Apple Europe, will serve as Vranakis' deputy, while D&AD has also announced the establishment of an inaugural global advisory board which includes industry heavyweights Sir John Hegarty, Colleen DeCourcy and Jaime Perlman.

Speaking about his new role, Vranakis said: "My goal is to increase diversity and broaden the pool of talent that D&AD encompasses to reflect the strength and expertise of creative minds from around the world, from different disciplines as well as different genders and backgrounds, both cultural and socio-economic.”
