DDB Chicago has appointed Mel Routhier as executive creative director of the agency.

The appointment marks a promotion from group creative director for Routhier, who was behind several successful campaigns for State Farm, including last year's Cannes Lion-winning Following. Prior to joining DDB, she spent ten years at Leo Burnett, where she created work for brands such as Kellogg’s, P+G, Disney and the US Army.

“Mel’s appointment to ECD could not be more well deserved," comments DDB Chicago's chief creative officer John Maxham. "She has consistently proven herself to be indispensable to State Farm and the agency as a creative leader, and I am delighted to further recognize her achievements with this promotion.”
