Calling all young directors looking to break into the creative industries: Cheil UK's Film Labs is back.

It's the third year running for the initiative, which offers the winning applicant a six-month paid internship in Cheil UK's creative department, where they can work on live briefs from the likes of Samsung and Nivea and even direct their own branded content film.

Starting on 7 January 2019, the internship is a chance to gain insights into the entire creative process, from pitching for work to developing and delivering projects.

To apply, candidates submit a short film they have made – including music videos, documentaries and social media clips – which best demonstrates their skillset as a filmmaker, along with a description of their production skills. Shortlisted applicants will then be interviewed by a judging panel made up of Russ Schaller, ECD; Lisa & Chloe, creative directors at Cheil UK; and Sheridan Thomas, global EP, Great Guns.

“Working in-house at Cheil has been an eye-opening insight into the ongoing work and dedication behind the scenes," says the current intern, Chris Lee. "I’m enjoying the problem-solving aspect to the role, working closely with the creative team, and creating some awesome content.”

“This internship is a chance for us to reach out to a diverse group of talent and help someone get some real, hands-on directing experience and hopefully move on to the next stage in their career as a result," adds Schaller. "At the same time we get enthusiasm and fresh perspectives, so it really is a win-win.”

Entries close at midnight on 30 November 2018, so get your skates on and apply here.
