Apple give a flock about your online security

Anyone who's watched Hitchcock's The Birds knows that the feathered nomads can never truly be trusted, so it's only a short leap (or flap) to equate them with the security cameras that perch on every street corner.

Taking this tantalising concept and filling it with 70s espionage tropes, TBWA\Media Arts Lab's latest for Apple sees a city-load of spies sprout wings and follow the most innocent of web-users.

Shot by SMUGGLER's Ivan Zacharias, who captures the mood of the piece perfectly through increasing peril and a digital-to-film transfer that aids cinematic authenticity, the film happily wears its genre influences on its sleeve, and pulls off an impressive homage to the Master of Suspense.

However, it's the Flock itself that is the real star of the piece - visual effects partners House of Parliament and Legacy Effects ensuring that each 'surveillance bird' is designed in relation to its environment; those found near the ocean have seagull-like demeanour and appearance, covered in rust, while the cameras perched in dim parking garages are distinctly bat-like.
