Boogie Nights signs László Nemes
The Oscar-winner director of Son Of Saul joins the Parisian production house for commercial representation.
Boogie Nights has signed the acclaimed director László Nemes.
Hailing from Budapest and raised in Paris, Nemes began his career as Béla Tarr's assistant during the production of The Man from London. In the 2000s, his short films received awards at a number of prestigious international film festivals. His first feature film, Son Of Saul, earned him accolades as a masterpiece, garnering worldwide acclaim and winning an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Bafta for Best Foreign Language Film, as well as the Cannes Film Festival's Grand Prix in 2015.
Throughout his films, Nemes continually explores the fate of civilizations, immersing the audience into distinct historical periods such as the hellish concentration camps during World War II in Son of Saul, and the increasing chaos of the Austro-Hungarian empire and Europe before World War I in Sunset.
His style is renowned as one of the most potent and distinctive of his generation, offering the audience a visceral experience to contemplate the human condition and its inclination toward self-destruction.
