Synthetic Signs the Duo Spooner and Bonde to Bring Danish Comedy Stateside

Synthetic Pictures has signed the Danish directing duo Spooner/Bonde to its roster for exclusive North American representation. The team of Mike Spooner and Simon Bonde have won several Arnold Prizes (Danish Prize for Commercial Films). The duo is breaking out to develop their show "The Man with the Golden Ears" for the US market.
Spooner and Bonde are high school buddies who developed a symbiotic directing relationship while creating their Danish TV show, "P.I.S."
They've created award-winning work, including a campaign of 30 sitcom-like spots for Toyota, which won several Arnold Prizes. In 2009, their series "The Man with the Golden Ears" hit it big on Danish television, scoring four Danish TV awards including Best Script and Best Short Format Drama. The duo is now developing that series for U.S. television, while increasing their exposure to the U.S. commercial market.
Synthetic Executive Producer Simon Barrett says, "You recognize their style the minute you see their commercials. It's sexy. It's fun. Their spots take you on a ride where the payoff works for international and U.S. audiences alike. It's sharp comedy."
