De Beers Group unearths some talent
De Beers Group teams up with Fortune Brand Studio and Wavelength for Talent Unearthed brand films spotlighting Botswana’s top athletes.
De Beers Group, the global diamond company, in collaboration with Fortune Brand Studio and Wavelength, is spotlighting some of the world’s greatest international athletes with the Talent Unearthed campaign, a series of intimate and inspiring branded documentary shorts.
Wavelength, a multiple Emmy and Tony-winning production company behind some of the most acclaimed documentaries of the past decade, and Fortune Brand Studio developed the concept together. The short film series highlights how natural diamonds can fuel dreams, uplift communities, and create lasting impact in Botswana.
The three-minute shorts of Talent Unearthed tell the stories of: Letsile Tebogo: Tebogo, a sprinter, became Botswana’s first Olympic gold medalist, winning the 200-meter sprint at the 2024 Paris Games. His mother sacrificed everything to get him there. In the wake of her passing, he dedicated his win to her honour.
Naledi and Ntungamili Raguin: Naledi, 18, is a national tennis champion, while her younger brother, Ntungamili, 15, is a star in the making, training for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games. Their short captures their rivalry, victories, and unbreakable bond.
Ouname Mhotsha: Mhotsha is Botswana’s first professional female golfer with two international wins. Her father, also a golfer, has mentored her since age seven. She is now regarded as the future of golf in the country.
“For over 55 years, the partnership between the Government of Botswana and De Beers Group has created wealth for economic development and supported opportunities in education and sports, in turn cultivating talents like all the remarkable athletes featured on Talent Unearthed,” said Sandrine Conseiller, CEO of De Beers Brands.
“With the launch of this content series, De Beers invites the world to discover the inspiring stories behind natural diamonds and their meaningful impact. Our belief in Botswana, its talent, its future, and its promise, remains absolute. The stories of these athletes and our commitment to Botswana are tied together and told beautifully thanks to Wavelength and Fortune Brand Studio.”
“Whether they’re feature-length films or three-minute shorts, our passion is telling great stories that truly engage with audiences,” said Dan Bradley, Executive Producer and VP of Production, Sports, at Wavelength. “Through the lens of these athletes’ phenomenal journeys, these films reflect the power of love, community, resilience, and the enduring truth that diamonds are forever.”
“The best brand stories are human stories,” said David Lennon, SVP, Head of Fortune Brand Studio. “We’re honored that Letsile, Naledi, Ntungamili, and Ouname let us tell theirs. We couldn’t have done it without a great partnership with the De Beers Group teams in London and Gaborone.”
