Director Lee Einhorn joins Emerald Pictures

Production company Emerald Pictures have announced the addition of longtime friend and collaborator Lee Einhorn to their commercial roster.
Launched by Mara Milićević and John Duffin in June, Emerald Pictures’ family of global talent includes Kosta, Rodney Lucas, Peter O’Brien, Jennifer Roberts, and Nathan R. Smith. Emerald will rep Einhorn for commercials in the US.
Einhorn makes his mark on his projects by telling stories, especially funny ones. As a creative director for almost a decade at Venables Bell & Partners, Lee was instrumental in leading much of the innovative and talked-about work VB&P created over the last decade, for clients including Audi, eBay, Google and most notably for the Titanium Lion-winning REI #OptOutside movement.
In 2018, he joined Stephen Goldblatt at creative syndicate Partners in Crime as a partner. Their collective model allows them to engage in projects and push process beyond the traditional agency framework. Einhorn’s creative work has been recognized by The One Show, Cannes, D&AD, The Andy Awards, ADC, CLIO, AICP, and the London International Advertising Awards.
Einhorn is a natural fit for Emerald Pictures, whose owners Mara Milićević and John Duffin are fellow industry vets whose experience spans agency, brand, and production roles. Prior to co-founding Emerald, Mara worked for agencies including Media Arts Lab, Chiat/Day, 72andSunny and kbs+, where she served as Head of Production. John was with Epoch Films for just under two decades as Head of Production and then Executive Producer, followed by a role building Framestore Pictures.
Says Mara, “In starting Emerald we gave a lot of thought to what a modern production company looks like. How can we produce the highest level creative with a process that feels efficient and intuitive? To us, Lee is such a clear example of the kind of talent that checks all of the boxes - someone who is deeply creative, as well as such a pleasure to collaborate with and be around. We’re so proud to welcome our talented friend to the family.”
Lee began his directing career at Mekanism, followed by a role as a partner at Rabbit Content, where his hybrid output as content creator for their San Francisco office–––which he opened–––included writing, directing and creative directing projects. During his tenure as creative director at VB&P, Einhorn continued to direct a few campaigns a year, a dual focus he continues at Partners in Crime.
Says Einhorn,“ I am beyond thrilled to join John and Mara and the rest of the Emerald family. The opportunity to bring my industry experience and odd take on the world to tell compelling and funny stories across all content platforms is really exciting,”
