powered byWith his music video for AIGEL's You’re born, filmmaker Andzej Gavriss not only took on sub-zero storms and steadycam challenges, he also managed to snag a Gold Screen at YDA 2020 in the process.
With an audacious film that took in multiple locations and told a complex story, Gavriss' talent with coherent narrative and, paired with DP Andrey Nikolayev, an excellent eye for iconic imagery made for a startling film the is chock full of ambition.
We spoke to the filmmaker, as he prepared for a move to Berlin, about the challenges of chasing Russian snow in February, adjusting a schedule at the last minute and achieving a cinematic look under tight restrictions.
