DogEatDog director Tom Furse directs George Riley’s latest music video for S-E-X featuring Hudson Mohawke.
This high energy promo consists of a series of psychedelic, AI-generated animations with heavy references to the aesthetics of internet culture.
Furse skillfully manipulates Riley’s identity and appearance using a custom-trained AI model trained on images of her face. Through this model Riley is reimagined as a muscle-bound gym bro, a suited incel, a 90s video game character, and many more. This narrative anchor places Riley into powerful characters that mock the male gaze and reverse stereotypical male/female roles.
This promo is a ferocious reclaiming of sexuality by Riley. Throughout the video male cartoon heads explode as they cannot fathom being belittled or disposed of. It is a provocative, energetic and fearless set of visuals that elevate the lyrical theme of the track.
