Hobby Film’s Magnus Renfors directs new action-packed commercial for Groupon, featuring a very handy character drop kicking a video-call-laden laptop through the wall before taking up a multitude of physical, real world experiences through Groupon, including a drum lesson, aerobics, a spa day, a hot air balloon ride and more.
Even with just two weeks of pre-production available to design and manufacture eight hand costumes and build nine sets, Renfors brings his signature combination of eccentric humour and striking visuals to help Groupon deliver a special message to humanity: Feed your soul and get hands on with life again!
The TVC, produced by Hobby Film, was shot in Bucharest, Romania, over two days. The campaign, which comprises the 30” TVC, digital OOH, social, display, audio, and OLV elements, is live in the United States and will later launch in select markets internationally.
