Hone Production Adds Eli Rotholz As Director Of Business Development And Content EP
Rotholz brings 10 years of sales and production experience.
Hone Production, the NYC and Atlanta-based hybrid production company/consultancy, adds new Director of Business Development and Content EP Eli Rotholz. Rotholz has represented some of the industry’s top commercial production companies, and is known for his contagious enthusiasm and his eye for spotting talent.
Rotholz brings 10 years of sales and production experience, having begun his career as an independent sales rep for Ziegler/Jakubowicz, before moving on to Moustache NYC. From there Rotholz worked in his first in-house position at Click3x, where he built a diverse roster of directorial talent and the company's first truly integrated production offering. Rotholz would then take his passion for discovering and developing emerging talent with his vision for content creation to found Honor Society Films. With a focus on creative problem solving and sales, Rotholz joins Hone to aim his expertise at growing new business and expanding the content side of the studio.
Hone EP/Co-Founder Matt Mattingly thinks Eli is the perfect fit for the hybrid model Hone prides itself on, by functioning as an ally and resource to creative agencies and brands alike. “We’ve been working with agencies and brand partners within our disruptive hybrid model, and it’s been incredibly effective,” he says. “Eli has the perfect mindset and experience to balance both roles for our clients. He shares the abilities and capabilities that make Hone unique. If our offering is a unicorn in the marketplace, Eli is a unicorn’s unicorn.”
Mattingly’s excitement is echoed by Greg Tharp, Hone’s other co-founding EP. “Eli opened a successful production company, he’s been a rep, he’s used to working with directors on the ground level—that’s the expertise he brings to Hone.” In discussing the company’s future, Tharp said, “Our integrated model supplies a strong offering for every option, and now in our fourth year we’re stretching even moreso into the brand space with clients like Airbnb, Wix and Weathsimple. Eli is the guy to build a diverse roster of talent, drawing on people from the episodic and feature worlds, as well as traditional ad-focused directors. He understands that Hone is here to disrupt.”
For his part, Rotholz is looking forward to this next chapter of his career. “What makes Hone exciting for me, as the landscape of advertising is changing, is that we are perfectly positioned to not only take advantage of our consulting offering, but to use that knowledge toward making amazing content. I love the idea of serving our clients in a more holistic way, rather than just being a regular production company or simply a consultancy that drops by for a minute. We’re already ahead of the curve and the rest of the industry is playing catch up. We give our directors more opportunities and agencies/brands more flexibility. Why would you do it any other way?”
