The old 'it looks like a getaway driver but isn't' trope has been done a few hundred times, but, with this funny branded short, new OB Management signing Jack Howard manages to stand out from the crowd with some nice cinematic flourishes and a lovely pair of performances.
Shot entirely using the latest Honor Magic4 Pro, The Pick Up, shot through Good Emperor for Three, sees a cool-but-anxious motorist await his all-important cargo, only for the rug to be pulled on the audience with its revelation.
Nicely constructed and with a denouement that is as witty as it is predictable, this is one ride we're glad we caught.
