Meeting in Zurich last week, the FIFA Executive Committee chose Russia to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. In a tightly fought race, the Russian bid scooped Spain, Holland and England to win the games in eight years. Adore Creative, the L.A.-based hybrid creative agency and production company, wrote, produced and directed the entire filmed portion of the campaign. The lead film, "Sasha's Big Day," is already a hit with Russian audiences.

"We're greatly honored to have played a role in this historic event in Russian history," says Rupert Wainwright, Adore Founder and Creative's Chief Creative Officer. No Eastern European country has ever hosted the Cup, and all in attendance at the FIFA announcement remarked how Russia staged an impressive bid with impressive short films supporting its campaign.  With the support of a top rate local Russian film crew Adore Creative was able to convey the excitement, pageantry and honor of hosting the 2018 World Cup, Wainwright adds.

The campaign is a series of three short promotional films shot on location across Russia in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Sochi, Kazan, Kaliningrad and several other cities during this past July and August.  The focus of the films is on the "New Russia" and its hospitality, ethnic diversity and overwhelming national passion for soccer. The tone is a mixture of sporting intensity and magical imagination.

The Adore Creative team is currently in Moscow starting a series of ad assignments for top Russian companies, and says they're excited about strengthening their presence in the Russian advertising and sporting world.
