As 2024 gets underway, Park Village announces the addition of acclaimed director Tom Gorst to its roster, further elevating the creative studio's impressive directors roster and culture through music.
Gorst's cinematic journey began in his formative years, igniting a passion that now defines his versatile body of work and shaping his unwavering creativity and dedication. Focusing on documentary, lifestyle, fashion, (and now encompassing a newfound partnership with Jack Whitehall), he has the unique ability to intimately capture characters and construct distinct narratives, keeping his work fresh and relevant.
Driven by an unrelenting love for music and documentaries, Gorst started out directing music videos for major labels and crafting short documentaries for Channel 4, collaborating with renowned artists such as Skepta, Loyle Carner, Hailee Steinfeld, The Prodigy, Izzy Bizu, VANT, and Hudson Mohawke, he solidified his presence in the industry.
Gorst is also the founder and creative director of BPure Sounds, a London-based music management and entertainment company which develops artists and partners with major record labels.
Embracing his energetic documentary and music video aesthetic, he has shot films for brands including Vivienne Westwood, Dove, Bed Head, Reebok, Sky, Unilever, Samsung, YouTube, Red Bull, British Airways, and Dyson.
Working closely with director Chris Watney, Gorst shot his debut documentary Brother’s In Football, which unravels the captivating story of the Corinthian Casuals, one of the oldest and most esteemed amateur football clubs, was released to great acclaim and has been acquired by both BT Sport Films and Amazon Prime.
“We’re over the moon to have Tom join the PV stable. Not only has he got deep connections in the music industry, both through his talent in directing and also managing artists, but his ambition to develop more long form formats, as we are doing with the Ivors Academy, and a keen eye for directing everything from stylised doco to commercial comedy, gives us a swiss army knife of directing talent. We’re dead excited about what we can create together.”
