Gavriss joins Pulse Films' for global representation roster for commercials and music videos, bringing his bold visual storytelling and emotional depth to the forefront.
Pulse Films welcomes acclaimed director Andzej Gavriss to its global roster for representation in commercials and music videos.
Known for his fearless and emotionally charged filmmaking, Gavriss brings a distinct voice and cinematic style to Pulse’s already celebrated lineup of directors. His work effortlessly bridges experimental techniques with meaningful, often hard-hitting narratives that leave lasting impact.
Originally from Latvia, Gavriss graduated from the University of Audio-Visual Arts in 2015. His films have been exhibited at prestigious institutions such as the Centre Pompidou, Panorama Berlin, and Brown University. His rise to international prominence came in 2022 with the LGBTQIA+ PSA We Will Become Better, a moving call for gay rights in Russia, which earned two Cannes Lions. He followed this with No Going Back, a cinematic Christmas short for World of Tanks starring Vinnie Jones.
Gavriss' commercial and music video work spans an impressive array of clients and collaborators, including Aldi, the UNHCR, James Arthur, Sansara, KORN, and AIGEL. His directorial achievements have been recognised by D&AD Pencils, the Clio Awards (Grand Prize), UKMVAs, a Gold for Director of the Year at the shots Awards, and Best Cinematography at Camerimage.
Now based between Los Angeles and Berlin, Gavriss continues to explore powerful human themes like immigration, identity, and belonging, while remaining grounded in his roots.
“I’ve always been drawn to filmmaking that challenges conventions, whether through narrative, visuals, or emotions,” said Gavriss. “From my first conversations with the Pulse team, it was clear they champion uncompromising work. Their ambition and creative spirit completely align with mine, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead.”
"Andzej is a rising star in the industry," added Mino Jarjoura, president of Vice Commercials and Branded Entertainment. "His work is fearless and infused with a strong energy. His ability to blend striking visuals with universal themes like family and identity makes his films unforgettable. We can’t wait to see what he does next."
