TWC Adds Director with the Addition of Reeves for US Representation

UK Director Steve Reeves directs for TWC in the US.

TWC has signed London-based director Steve Reeves for exclusive representation in the US.

Reeves has won numerous awards, both as a creative and a director, which include BTAA Gold Arrows and Creative Circle Golds. His work for Prudential was included in ITV's Top 100 Ads.

Reeves loves getting involved in the creative process, encouraging creatives to call him with their ideas and being involved with a campaign from its conception until its completion. Although he is increasingly asked to take on work of a more visual nature, Reeves describes his main area of direction as "heart felt performance, often with a gentle comedy edge".

Mark Thomas, Managing Director at TWC, has been a long time fan of Reeves' work. "Of all the great companies Steve was speaking with, I was thrilled when we finally spoke and saw eye to eye. We're very excited to share his vision and to introduce his work to creatives."

Reeves started out studying copywriting at Watford College. In 1987 he landed a job as a copywriter at BMP DDB, working on accounts such as Volkswagen, Fosters, British Gas and The British Milk Marketing Board. After a nine year stint he moved on to start directing as a duo with his creative partner Paul Gay. Then, in 2001, he helped set up Another Film Company with ex-Gorgeous Enterprises Founder and Producer Tim Marshall, which still thrives today.

"I love American writing," remarked Reeves as he spoke about looking forward to working in the American market. "I've had no presence in America because I had a family, but now that my kids are grown I'm desperate to get back out there. Also, I had my company here in London to look out for, but now it's starting to run itself."

When asked what initially drew him to TWC, Reeves replied, "I have an international rep that sent me some links and I really liked one of the spots on their website. I got to talk with them on the phone. Mark is a nice guy. Very genuine and had a quite a bit of confidence about him. I'm a real people person and it's important to me to work with people I like. TWC has a great reputation for getting international directors up and running in the United States."
