and Art Projects Take the Spotlight
Renegade Films production diversification has paid off as it received four AFI Awards from its seven nominations at the recently-held awards show, which took place at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne. It was nominated for its comedy series "Wilfred II" and the documentary "Inside The Firestorm."
"It is with these prestigious accolades that we push our way further into the future, producing quality content and remaining open to the many possibilities all visual media has to offer," says Joe Connor, co-founder of the shop and Executive Producer. In the film, Tarasin strips back their performances and creates what's being billed as an 'intimate video study of the art of performing.' The film will be shown at the upcoming Sydney Festival 2011. Tarasin has assembled an impressive cast for the project, which has captured some extraordinary performances, traveling through L.A., New York, Toronto, London and Melbourne. The exhibition was designed by cutting edge lighting guru Bruce Ramus, who has worked for such artists as U2,David Bowie, REM, David Byrne and Brian Eno.
Tarasin's exhibition premieres at the opening night of the Sydney Festival 2011 on January 14 in the in the Lower Sydney Town Hall. Some samples of the work can be seen on Tarasin's reel on the Renegade web site (for more on this, click here), or on the Sydney Festival 2011 web site (click here).
