Created in lockdown, the film required Ryan Booth to remotely direct 16 DP's (himself included) from across the United States in order to capture the brands iconic arches and tell the story of their support for key workers during the pandemic.
Meticulously planned routes ensured airtight social distancing for each of the DPs involved, together with the production team, it was ensured that everyone involved worked in complete isolation with no contact with anyone else.
This meant finding a McDonald's restaurant closest to each DP's home-base (via google maps), ensuring they could either walk or drive themselves to the location alone, and adhering to a strict 1-hour shooting schedule which started at the break of dawn. Ryan collaborated with the post teams remotely, and the results are stunning...
Pulse Films are incredibly proud of Ryan and of our amazing US commercials team who managed, in the early days of the U.S lockdown, to create an amazing piece of work. It's a testament to Ryan's talent, skill and innovation as a director that he was able to create a vision and lead a team in such challenging circumstances. Hope you enjoy it!
