Commercial and promo director Sophia Ray has signed with Academy for global representation.
Starting her career as a graphic designer, Ray established a strong aesthetic direction in moving images, with her university film earning a place in the graduates issue of Creative Review. She entered the film industry through a mix of live-action and animated projects, collaborating with artists such as Lily Allen and 5S0S, before winning a VMA at the beginning of her career.
Ray quickly advanced into the world of branded content and music videos, working with Google, Nike, and the BBC, as well as artists including Olly Alexander of Years & Years, Sigrid, Little Mix, and Ellie Goulding. She recently directed the trailers for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella, alongside academy award-winning writer Emerald Fennell.

Ray's work is recognized for its dreamy and playful nature, with undertones referencing a darker and surreal world. Her darker narrative skills are showcased in her upcoming short film Triptych, a psychological horror film set to be released later this year.
