SourceEcreative Web Site Visits Push Million Mark
Global use of our database and archive has been trending higher, with particularly strong spikes in Asia and South America.
Visits to www.sourceecreative.com are rapidly approaching the one million mark for the 12-month period ending on September 30, according to SourceEcreative founder Pamela Maythenyi, Senior Vice President of parent company DG Fastchannel. Its recent web site figures indicate that use is growing across the spectrum of the global ad industry. In key regions the service is seeing significant spikes in usage, while overall usage is growing by double digits over year-ago periods.
More importantly, SourceEcreative users are plumbing the depths of its database, spending an average of 19 minutes on the site with each visit, Maythenyi says. In addition, the average number of page views per visit, at 22.9, indicates that users are routinely conducting extensive searches for advertising content such as spots and web videos, as well as for production resources such as directors, editors and visual effects companies.
The top ten countries of origin for visits to SourceEcreative, after the United States, are (in descending order) South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, China, Thailand, Chile, South Africa and Germany.
So what do these figures suggest? Maythenyi believes they underscore the continued use of both traditional TV ads as well as newer media models for brand support. “I think what we’re seeing, particularly in South and Central America and throughout Asia, is that the use of video content as a marketing tool is not slowing at all but growing at a surprisingly strong pace,” she says.
“While media prognosticators have been predicting the death of the TV commercial for years, what we’re finding is more and more advertisers around the world are turning to both traditional TV commercial formats along with web distribution for their marketing messages," she continues. "While the format may be evolving, its use hasn’t slowed one bit.”
