Exciting new signings at Tantrum as they welcome Bennett Johnson and Tobias Perse to their roster.
Bennett’s work is driven by high-concept storytelling and a mixture of visual effects and strong emotional performances. His piece Hope Inside the Fire by Foreign Fields, earned him a GOLD CANNES LION for Excellence in Music Video in 2017. Through his background in fine art, Bennett started out directing making promos for electronic artists in the Northeast of England. Since then, he has gone on to direct a number of highly successful music videos and commercials and is definitely one to watch.
Tobias combines strong cinematography with a unique comic sensibility, bringing quirk and musical delight along with a penchant for mockumentary that often leaves the audience wondering how much is actually real. He is an award winning film director scooping up awards at CANNES, D&AD and CLIOS amongst others. Tobias co-directed the feature-length documentary Persons of Interest, which premiered at SUNDANCE and won the Amnesty International Humanitarian Film Prize. He’s also written for television & magazines, including Rolling Stone, where he suffered nobly as HUNTER S THOMPSON’s editor. You wanna hear those stories!
