The Jury's Out And Prep Time's Extended For Square ArtSquare Art, the exhibition founded by Soho VFX house Golden Square and production company Disqo, has announced today that the date of the exhibition is changing, from the 16th May to the 11th July 2013.
The exhibition is open to people working within the advertising industry. The decision was taken to move the date back, after receiving feedback from artists wishing to enter the event.
Golden Square MD Phil Gillies said that "the advertising industry has changed dramatically since we launched the event, and so everyone is under huge time pressure at this time of year. Our theme of Digital v Craft is inspiring people to try their hand at something different, and so we need to give people who want to enter enough time to create the best pieces possible. There is also now a chance that we will have some good weather for the event!"
That gives artists hoping to enter an extra two months to get their work ready, with the call for entries now being extended to the 14th June. A more in-depth description of what's expected can be seen on our previous post. The competition has also announced its jury line-up for 2013, and it has a lovely drizzle of SourceE.
The Square Art jury includes;
- Neil Bennett (Editor, Digital Arts)
- Daniel Bergmann (MD, Stink)
- Danny Edwards (Editor, Shots)
- Emily Hare (Managing Editor, Contagious)
- Karen Gaskill (Events Curator, Arts Council)
- Nils Leonard (CCO, Grey)
- Jamie Madge (Worldwide Editor, SourceEcreative)
- Steve Vranakis (ECD, Google Creative Lab London)
Using a digital medium comes naturally to many people working in advertising, but organisers are also putting out a clarion call to the bakers, cross-stitchers, potters, knitters and other craft artists out there in ad-land.
