The trailer, produced by Thirsty Film with seasoned producer Niklas Adolfsson, offers a glimpse into the adrenaline-fueled world of Payday 3 showcasing a meticulously designed heist and a highly immersive atmosphere. The film was written and directed by danish director Stefan Pflug, known for his storytelling and cinematic flair.
With his artistic vision and attention to detail, Pflug calls the film an unforgettable revisit with the genre that first captured his attention and love as a teenager; “This project was a collective labour of love, which first and foremost relied on an incredible partnership with Starbreeze and Creative Director Oscar Wickman, who, like I, simply adores the genre. We spent weeks in passionate discussions about the key genre pieces, new and old, and on how to make this film its own leveraging the narrative and characters of the game. That passion truly soaked the whole process from start to finish
“We experienced an unparalleled commitment from everyone involved including my DOP, Jacob Møller, with whom we formed the visual language, a mixture of chaotic handheld and crafted shots, our production partner in Riga, Mü̈nchhausen, and production designer Aldis Meinerts, our editor Anders Jon who was involved at an early stage, my long time composer Jonas Horsted Larsen - and finally our partnership with post-production house Chemistry and Chemistry Sound, who lifted the project to reach its full potential”.
The film is accompanied by a score created by Jonas Horsted Larsen and performed by the Vienna Symphony under British conductor Evan Rogers. The orchestra's contribution adds a layer of intensity and emotion to the short film. Creative Director, Wickman, explains; “We follow one slippery stack of money and its journey from deposit to withdrawal, so to speak.
"The core of the film is greed, and how that is contagious not only to the four gang members, but to everyone around it. This is presented in a well-choreographed short film that would have been impossible to create without our Director, Pflug. His passion and attention to detail has resulted in a film that I truly believe will be the fastest five minutes our viewers will ever experience”.
