Karen Monahan Named Director of Digital Production for W+K New York

Karen Monahan.
Wieden+Kennedy New York has named Karen Monahan as Director of Digital Production.  Working under the leadership of Executive Creative Directors Todd Waterbury and Kevin Proudfoot, and Head of Content Production Gary Krieg, Monahan joins interactive Creative Director Jerome Austria to complete the interactive creative/production management team.

Previously at BBH, Monahan assisted in establishing processes for the development of interactive work and was influential in the launch of campaigns for Axe Unilever, such as “100 Girls” and the recently launched Axe “Rise” campaign. Before joining BBH she held the managing director role in the New York office of Perfect Fools, an international boutique design agency, and held the roles of executive producer and director of production, respectively, at digital agencies R/GA and Big Spaceship.

Before her career in advertising, Monahan was the assistant chair of the digital design department at Parsons School of Design, where she received a Master’s Degree in Design and Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art.

“It’s great when an agency’s ideas inspire its producers to be inventive and resourceful,” said Proudfoot, “but it’s even better when a producer is so incredibly talented that people feel pressure to create ideas that live up to his or her passion and ability. In Karen, we know we have the latter – and we’re excited to begin our collaboration with her.”
