Set in a world where the representation of women in sporting roles is equal to that of men, Exit Films' director Bonnie Moir's short film Dear Michelle takes the form of a glorious fan letter from one young player to her idol, Michelle Jordan.
Told through the voice of our protagonist, the film shows us a determined wannabe NBA star, bolstered by the encouragement of her sister and, crucially, her idol, into working towards her dreams. Sparking important conversation around the way female role models in sport were, and are, portrayed, the timely theme is aided by some glorious cinematography and on-point art direction.
