The sad news was announced today that Frances Royle, founder of Royle Productions, passed away this Saturday [July 29] at London's Royal Marsden hospital after brief but bravely fought illness.

Royle productions was founded in 2012 after Royle spent 20 years working at BBH London where she started as a PA and rose through the agency, joining the board and becoming head of TV and film production. She was widely known as one of the most respected and admired producers in the industry.

Over the last five years Royle built Royle Productions into a new style of full service production company, working with a diverse portfolio of leading agencies and brands such as Quorn, Arthur, 101, The Garage Soho, The Assembly, EY, The London Agency and Zoopla.

Royle Productions released a statement saying;

"Everyone involved in the company and her fellow shareholders, John Hegarty, Nigel Maile and Robbie Cowan, share the immense loss and extend their sympathies and condolences to Frances’s family and friends.

"The shareholders note that the business is in good shape, financially sound and has a bright future building on Frances’ legacy. The existing management, Sarah Marcon and Victoria Clark, have been successfully looking after clients and winning business these past few months whilst Frances has been absent.

"Frances will be sorely missed by an industry she gave much to. Her legacy, however, will live on at Royle Productions."

Friends and business acquaintances were quick to offer praise and admiration for a close friend and colleague. "Many people today talk about a glass ceiling," said John Hegarty, "Frances proved there was no ceiling, especially one made of glass. I will miss her enormously."

John Bartle said; “Frances was one of our greatest success stories. And she went on to more success, as she deserved. More importantly she was a delight with it. Always."

"Frances was a wonderful mix of talent, positivity, determination and fun," stated Nigel Bogle. "I will miss her very much."

"I speak on behalf of everyone at Royle Productions when I say how immensely proud we are to have had the opportunity to work with a lady as truly incredible and inspiring as Frances," said Sarah Marcon. "She has not only been the most wonderful boss, but a dear friend to us all."
