MTV LOVES GÜNTHER

This week's hot shot is a surreal little spot for MTV Europe from John Doe in Amsterdam and directed by Steve Ayson of New Zealand production company The Sweet Shop.

The mad ad features a young black man coming to terms with his inner German-ness - drinking beer, wearing lederhosen, and loving David Hasselhoff - much to his white parents' horror.

MTV Europe gave John Doe an open brief on the ad and agreed not to see a script before the ad was shot. The agency simply surprised them with this two-minute commercial, which was shot in New Zealand by Steve Ayson, to give it a non-European feel.
