The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London held host to this year's British Television Craft Awards on Monday evening, which saw Frank Budgen's Mountain spot for Sony PlayStation 2 take Best Crafted Commercial of the year.

The ad, created by TBWALondon, also led Budgen, who is repped by Gorgeous Enterprises, to win the VFG Award for Best Camera Operator and the Soho Images Award for Best Director.

In addition to Budgen's success, its stunt director, Paul Shapcott, collected the award for Best Stunts for the epic amount of stunt work involved in the spot. Over 700 stunt man days were involved, and 1,700 extras were used to create the mountain of people. Possibly the most audacious stunt of all was to build the top of a mountain on the roof of the second highest skyscraper in Rio de Janeiro, and film 200 stunt men swarming and tumbling on it, using a helicopter and a crane.

The ad also won Best Video Post Production for Barnsley, Jeff Robins, Richard Betts, Daniel Morris, Jordi Bares and Ben Smith at The Mill, and Best Use of Recorded Music for Peter Raeburn of Soundtree Studios.
