Sandwick Films in New York has signed feature film cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel as a commercials director. Sigel joins the company having just wrapped production on director Bryan Singer's Superman Returns, and worked on a clutch of other high profile Hollywood films including X Men, The Usual Suspects and the recently released The Brothers Grimm.
Film directors agency Hoben, launched in April of this year, has added commercials and promos director Matteo Bonifazio to its roster, and Marie Hertig as directors rep. After 12 years at VTR, Glassworks have lured over Tareq Kubaisi to head up their new telecine department, along with producer Anthea Mousley and telecine assistant Ian Parker. While at VTR, Kubaisi worked on ads for Renault Clio and Megane, Ikea, Pepsi, Lee Jeans, Lux and Guinness, and high profile promos including Robbie Williams's Radio, Supreme and Rock DJ, as well as Kylie's Slow.
BBH London has appointed Ben Fennell as managing director. His predecessor, Derek Robson, left BBH last month to join Goodby Silverstein & Partners. Fennell was formerly chief executive of BBH Asia, and worked on the Lynx and T-Mobile accounts among others.
Euro RSCG Fuel Worldwide have hired senior creative team, Mick French and Henry Rossiter. The pair, who were previously creative directors and board directors at WCRS, will be working on high-profile Euro RSCG Fuel accounts, Jaguar and Reckitt Benckiser.
Smith & Foulkes's alma mater Nexus Productions have signed directing duo RBG6, and immediately won a commission from Mother to create a set of sponsorship idents for Orange. RBG6, aka graphic design graduates Joel Nordstrom and Lars Ohlin, have created campaigns for EMI Sweden, Z-TV, Nike Brand Design, and their work has also been showcased at various exhibitions across the world including the Stockholm Fashion Fair, Gainsborough Studios in London, Berlin U-Bahn and Le Centre Culturel Suisse de Paris.
Amarillo Films have signed of Tim Abshire for UK representation. He will continue to be repped by Backyard in the US. Abshire has won various awards including a golden pencil for his MTV spots with Ben Stiller.
Senior visual effects artist Kevin Quinlan has joined the creative team at the design and visual effects studio Click 3x. Quinlan arrives from Charlex, New York, where he spent ten years working on Nickelodeon and HBO, and on commercials for Cingular, Reebok, America Online and M&Ms.
Former head of marketing at Stillking in Prague, James Ricketts, has taken over as head of production at Pioneer Productions in Budapest
