Home Films have this week signed a clutch of new directors for commercials representation.Animation director Franco Tassi joins the roster after his neat commercial for Citroen featured on shots 90, where he appeared in the New Directors section. Second addition to the roster is new director Michael Arnell, who has shot work for Sony PlayStation, and music videos for Veronika and Jay Sean. And last but not least animation duo Fabio La Fauci and Daniel Sigalot, who have created the rather oddball characters, Blue and Joy, due to feature in a forthcoming animated short.
Directing team Josh & Xander has signed with US production company Tight for exclusive US commercials and music video representation. The pair, whose recent spot projects include Amstel Light, UBS, Johnson & Johnson, Bubblicious, TIAA-CREF, MAC Cosmetics, and Midway Games, come over from Partizan. Most recently they shot music videos for indie darlings The Stills and The Fever.
Moon Films have signed music video and beauty director Phil Griffin, previously at Pink, for commercial representation. After a stint at MCA records as head of creative in the marketing department, Griffin set up Alchemy Films and has since directed promos for pop acts including the Sugababes, Girls Aloud, Blue, Danny Minogue and Daniel Bedingfield.
Bi-coastal production company Zooma Zooma has signed director and stills photographer Kai Regan for commercials. As well as recent outdoor work for iPod, personally chosen by Steve Jobs no less, he has directed work for Nike's The Art of Speed project, Nike Couture, Blinde Design Skate, and a music video for indie sensation, CocoRosie.
Santa Monica-based production company Green Dot has signed director Richard Sears. Since joining, Sears has wrapped a Cox campaign with Doner, and is currently prepping a branded entertainment short for Nissan/DirecTV via TBWAChiatDay in Los Angeles.
The Mob Film company have added director Steve Qua to their roster. The experienced Qua worked for Channel 4 creating idents and branding before working as a freelance designer for Wieden + Kennedy in Amsterdam. He also worked at agency Karmarama as a creative on Ikea, UKTV and MTV among others. Most recently he worked on logos for comedian Peter Kay's TV show Max And Paddy's Road To Nowhere, and a short film commissioned by the Design Council.
Streetgang Films has added Charles Mehling to its roster. Mehling has shot music videos for Stereophonics, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Music and The Hiss.
The Hive, part of the VTR Group, has appointed Simon Briggs as managing director. Simon will work alongside the MDs at blue, TMR and VTR, and report into the group's operations director, Neil Lane. Briggs worked within VTR for nine years, most recently as director at blue, and prior to that seven years as director of post production at TMR.
Amsterdam-based film and motion graphics studio, PostPanic, have taken on Ivor Goldberg as Senior 3D Artist, heading up PostPanic's in-house CG department. Ex-Londoner, Ivor, worked in a freelance capacity on previous PostPanic projects including the award-winning Nike Look Good Be Bad and Sportlife Deep.
