Moves this week at Wanted Films, Hungry Man, Feel Films, Nolan Pictures, Rushes, Laika and rhinofx
Recently formed London production company Wanted Films has signed legendary director Tony Kaye for UK commercials representation. Kaye has shot countless award-winning campaigns, but most recently finished an AA spot currently airing in the UK. He is repped by Supply & Demand in the US.
Hungry Man has signed Brazilian director Claudio Borelli for worldwide representation. Borelli has shot for brands including VW, Fiat, Brahma and Rainha and comes to Hungry Man from Killers, the production company that he set up in Sao Paulo with long-time partner Julia Tavares.
Matt Carter has joined Feel Films for commercials. Carter was formerly with Love where he worked on sponsorship spots for 118 188 and Herbal Essences and most recently Weetabix in the US. He also shot the award-winning Channel 4 documentary This Teen Life.
Nola Pictures has signed director Juan Delcan for commercials representation. Delcan comes to the company from Spontaneous Combustion where he was creative director and worked on brands including AT&T, Coca-Cola, Ikea, Maybelline, PBS, and Verizon. Also a graphic artist, his animated illustration work featured on the recent U2 tour as backing visuals.
Rushes' recent expansion programme continues with the appointment of a host of new staff, namely VFX artists Roisin Dunstall, Martin Goodwin and Richard White, executive producer Toby Abbott and senior producers Ali Wendt, Emma Watterson and Debby Eden. Rushes is also adding a motion-control studio to its Wardour Street facility, managed by cameraman John Wenman.
Animation studio Laika has appointed Al Cubillas to the position of vice president, head of technology. Cubillas worked as senior producer on Laika's cg short Moongirl. He joined Laika in 2001 and was most recently vice president of digital operations.
rhinofx has hired Karin Levinson to the new post of vice president of business development, long form entertainment. Levinson is in charge of looking for new business opportunities for rhinofx in the feature film, episodic television, and videogame entertainment arenas. She was formerly executive producer, visual effects for Blackbox on films including Mr and Mrs Smith, National Treasure and Hellboy.
