Producer Barney Jeffrey passed away on Monday evening following a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Jeffrey, who over the years had worked at Mad Cow, Bullett, RSA, Great Guns, GLO and Garretts, is survived by his partner Elise Traversi and two daughters, Alice and Martha.
Most recently he had been a staff producer at Mad Cow Films. Executive producer Pete Chambers, who knew Jeffrey for many years, paid this tribute: "Barney was special. I have never met anybody like him. He was unique, a one off, and the most memorable person it's been my privilege to know.
"The messages of love and support from around the world in the past few weeks have been a testament to his legacy - he touched everyone he met with a special magic and left you feeling that you were, in some way, part of a band of brothers and sisters that was real and tangible."
"Whenever I forgot the human element of producing, Barney was there to remind me why we were actually doing this job and that it was always about people. I thank him for that."
Steve Ackhurst, Tess Maurice-Jones and Mad Cow Films were in the process of setting up a fund for Barney's alternative treatment or, in the event of his death, a trust fund for his children.
The funeral will be on Monday March 17 at 3pm, at St Mary with St George Hornsey Parish Church, 140 Cranley Gardens, N10 3AH. The wake will be at the Victoria Stakes Bar & Dining Rooms, No.1 Muswell Hill, London.
No floral tributes. Well Wishers are invited to contribute to his children's trust fund, which will be administered by Elise and an accredited solicitor. Cheques should be made out to Alice Jeffrey.
