As Diet Coke celebrates its 30th birthday the brand has decided to revisit its most famous creation besides the drink itself, the Diet Coke Hunk.
This new spot, directed by MJZ's Rocky Morton through BETC London, has all the ingredients of the orginal series of Diet Coke Break spots which started in the 90s. The original spot from 1994 featured an 11.30am Diet Coke break, a group of women, a window and a hunky construction worker and was a huge success, and following incarnations in '97 and 2007, 2013 sees The Gardener take centre stage.
In the upcoming issue of shots magazine, issues 141, Neil Dawson, ECD at BETC London, writes for us on the decision to bring back the Hunk, what that means for the brand and the process of casting the coveted role. The issue will be out mid-February.
