Lawrence Rothman: Montauk Fling

Director Floria Sigismondi launches record label Mamaroma with a tale of glamour and madness.

LA-based singer/multi-instrumentalist Lawrence Rothman’s single Montauk Fling is the dark brainchild of 2013 MVPA Awards Director of the Year, Floria Sigismondi. The entropic music video marks the launch of her signature record label, Mamaroma, which is to act as a platform for undiscovered new music. Its main focus will be vinyl releases, with record artwork and accompanying music videos created by Sigismondi. Sigismondi has crafted visuals for the biggest names in music such as David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Justin Timberlake, Sigur Rós and the White Stripes, among others.

Shot at the famed Los Angeles hotel, Chateau Marmont, the dark video features Rothman as a deranged Elizabeth Taylor. The two backing dancers, Bridgette Hackman and Linda Borini, were choreographed at the foremost den of glamour and vice with no rehearsals.
