On My Radar: Ange Eleini
Grey London's Ange Eleini takes part in our inaugural Q&A and lets us in on what's on her radar.
In the first of a new series of Q&A interviews we speak to Grey London agency producer Ange Eleini [above] about some of the people and things that have inspired her, places in which she's found creative enlightenment and technology which she has invested in.
What’s the best ad campaign you’ve seen recently?
Southern Comfort. I find the man in Shampoo [below] strangely attractive! Tim Godsall’s got that eye on casting and music that really works for me.
What website(s) do you use most regularly?
The Huffington Post: just an all-round catch up on news, celeb & trivia.
PETA: I fight for animal rights and use my work and social networks as a platform to raise awareness; to fight for and support their wellbeing. People don’t really take notice or spare the time to make a stand, so I do it for them.
What’s the most recent piece of tech that you’ve bought and why?
JAMBOX speakers [below]. Why not?
Facebook or Twitter?
Facebook every time for me. Voyeurism into others people’s lives – what’s not to like?
What’s your favourite app on your phone?
Uber Taxi. Everyone wants a private driver.
What’s your favourite TV show and why?
How I Met Your Mother [below]… it’s as stupid as I am.
Where were you when inspiration last struck?
On a chairlift, overlooking snow-covered mountains in Morzine. I actually had ‘that moment’, when you realise you’re happy. It inspired me to come back to London with a fresh outlook and a positive approach. The world’s not such a bad place after all.
What’s the most significant change you’ve witnessed in the industry since you started working in it?
Email.
If there was one thing you could change about the advertising industry, what would it be?
I’d love to see every client donate a proportion of their advertising spend to a charitable cause, set up a programme for the underprivileged or give to the local community.
What or who has most influenced your career and why?
Zoe Bell [head of integrated film at Saatchi & Saatchi London]. She taught me that you can work hard AND play hard, respect people AND be respected, and make great ads without losing your will to live or self-worth.
She’s an amazing woman (and when I grow up I want to be her).
Tell us one thing about yourself that most people won’t know.
I have 15 piercings…
