Have you ever walked down the street and wondered where to get hold of your favourite beer?

Well, fear not – the Sol Search platform is here and you’ll never be Sol-less again.

Irish agency CKSK has created the independent search engine to reflect the beer’s Free Spirit mentality and history – since it was created in 1899, after Mexico’s struggle for independence.

Like the BETC search engine unveiled earlier this month, platform users (CKSK is especially targetting the average 35-year-old drinker) can type anything into the search bar and receive information about emerging eateries and popular but off-the-cuff drinking holes.

Rather than promote mainstream places like Dominos and Pizza Hut, the platform gives independent entrepreneurs the chance to be seen online, completing their listing with a description about the founders and providing customer reviews.

“Online, we’re all morphing into the same homogeneous person who clicks on the same content and retweets the same tweets,” says CKSK head of strategy Graham Nolan on the inspiration behind the platform. “Discovering cool, unconventional and independent bars, restaurants and cafes online is hard, so, too is being who you really are. And that’s why we created Sol Search.”

Sol Search can be used in international cities including London, Sao Paulo, Athens, Thessaloniki – and will soon launch in the brand’s hometown Mexico City. By the end of the year, it will be available in ten more cities.
