Put John Malkovich in anything and you know it’s going to be an instant hit.

But what are we, as a society, going to do once he’s gone? He’s not invincible – he won’t be able to keep making movies forever, you know…

If this idea alone terrifies you, fear not... John Malkovich isn’t going anywhere – at least not for the next 100 years.

Fred & Farid New York has created its first work for LOUIS XIII cognac and created a film that will not be fully released until 2115.

100 Years: The Movie You Will Never See – helmed by Robert Rodriguez (famed for Sin City) – is a project that imagines life in the future.

The film will be locked away in a luxury safe – that will unlock automatically on 18 November 2115. No other methods will be able to unlock the box.

The campaign was invented as a way of recognising the time it takes to make the French liquor and to appreciate the four generations’ of work needed to create each bottle.

In Beverly Hills last week, a celebrity-filled party celebrated the cinematographic project, where global guests were given invitations to the film's future premiere at House of LOUIS XIII in France… so really, the invitations are for their descendents.

“In today’s instant gratification culture, the long commitment it takes to create Louis XIII is an oddity. It inspired us to make something unusual that would excite people’s imagination,” say F&F’s CD Laurent Leccia and MD Francois Grouiller.

Different trailers for the film (below) have been created to appeal to the audience of the time. Follow the conversation using #notcomingsoon or visit the website.
