Source Creative Interviews - Daniel Kleinman ON BOND
We spoke to Bond title-sequence mastermind (and industry legend) Daniel Kleinman about how he got involved in 007's world.
When he’s not shooting commercials for some of the biggest brands in the world, Rattling Stick director and ad-industry legend Daniel Kleinman has an interesting sideline in creating the glorious opening sequences for that most suave of movie idols - James Bond.
As important to the character as the cool cars, nifty gadgets and sly one-liners he’s famous for, Bond title sequences and the songs that accompany them play an essential role into easing the audience towards the world of MI6, exotic locations and a licence to kill.
A seasoned pro at the job - having taken over from Maurice Binder for 1995’s GoldenEye and constructed 6 of the 7 sequences since - Kleinman’s deft hand at creating intricate swirls of story-specific imagery along a kaleidoscopic journey have garnered him plaudits from fans since his first work.
As the world goes Bond-crazy once more at the launch of Spectre, the latest 007 outing, we thought there was no better time to pick up the cameras from Q, questions from M and scoot over to Rattling Stick’s Soho offices in our Aston Martin DB5 to quiz Mr Kleinman on the history of his contribution to one of cinema’s most iconic franchises.
