AMV BBDO Triumphs at the 2016 British Arrows
All the winners from last night's British Arrows ceremony.
Last night (March 23) the UK advertising industry gathered at Battersea Evolution for the 2016 British Arrows to find out what this year’s jury, headed by BBH deputy ECD, Rosie Arnold, had deemed the best work in television, online and cinema over the last 12 months.
And, on the 40th anniversary of the event, the 1,200-strong audience witnessed 17 gold and 33 silver Arrows handed out, with another 37 bronze awards name-checked.
Comedian David Mitchell was the night's host and did a stirling job of actually keeping the gathered throng quiet for 15 minutes while he humorously dissected the advertising industry in his own inimitable way, before the awards-giving began.

The big winner on the night was undoubtedly AMV BBDO which picked up an unprecedented 36 arrows in total and who were, unsurprisingly, and for the second year in a row, named Advertising Agency of the Year, the trophy for which was presented to them by Stanley Tucci [pictured top], which was arranged by Talent Republic, who sponsored the award.
AMV's work for Curry PC World, Spare the Act, starring Jeff Goldblum, dominated the night with six golds, eight silvers and six bronze Arrows and also picked up Commercial of the Year for the Laptop spot.
adam&eveDDB also struck gold (and silver and bronze) with 17 Arrows with work for, among others, H&M, Harvey Nichols and John Lewis.

Other winners on the night include BBH London for their work on The Guardian and Wieden+Kennedy London for work on Finish, Honda and Lurpak.
Production Company of the Year; Outsider London
With multiple arrows for multiple campaigns, the Production Company of the Year award, sponsored by Panalux, was picked up by Outsider [above] whilst global alcoholic drinks brand Guinness was presented with the Advertiser of Excellence Award, sponsored by the Walker Art Centre.

“After years of speculation about the demise of film, the signs are that it is not only alive and well but positively booming," said Rosie Arnold. "The long-length Christmas extravaganzas have raised the bar for the whole year. We found ourselves laughing out loud again and again. The brilliant talent and brains who have thought up, bought or crafted the work that won tonight are the reason I still love this business.”
