CHI&Partners Mimics John Lewis with Yetis
It’s not just Buster the Boxer who likes to bounce on trampolines, Argos’ yetis have also joined in the fun.
Following news of John Lewis’ Christmas campaign last week, Argos and CHI&Partners have been busy at work, creating a parody of beloved Buster’s bouncing extravaganza.
The Gifts that even yetis will love (below) is clearly inspired by adamandeveDDB’s offering but adapted to feature the stars of Argos’ 2016 xmas ad; its colourful yetis.
In the spot that aired on Friday – just one day after John Lewis was released – a yeti can be seen bouncing on a trampoline, accompanied by soft-playing music from the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
Helmed by Henry Scholfield, who also directed the brand’s Christmas Yetis spot this year, the spot is a fun tongue-in-cheek spoof of the John Lewis hype – much like Lidl did last year with its’ take on JL’s Man on the Moon.
